Seniors take the field
Our first game of the Junior League Group 1 takes place, at home, on Saturday at 7pm when Oram are the visitors. This will be a tester as Oram have a victory under their belt and they wont like to taste defeat. Hopefully we can get our best foot forward and make the break through that we have been so close too in the past few seasons.
Sean Ogs
The Sean Ogs hit the road again last weekend to Monaghan Harps for another morning of football fun. Well done boys and girls and thanks to the Harps for hosting.
Juveniles
The U15’s travelled to Oram last Thursday for their next round of the league. In a tight physical game the lads held up well and made their early attacks count on the Oram goal. A small lead at half time was enough to hang onto for the second period. The warm evening sunshine sapped their energies and the sound of the final whistle was welcomed. As was the win. Another two points secured away from home and they await the arrival of the local rivals, Aghabog on Thursday evening.
Our U13’s took to the field on Sunday evening as neighbours, Eire Og, were the opposition. With a back drop of thunder, lightening and torrential downpours, both teams managed to dodge the weather and play ball. The game was end to end excitement all the way. The slippery under foot conditions added to the dramatic turnovers and scores. The visitors stamped their authority and the home team had to chase the game. Time wasn’t on their side and Eire Og won the battle on the day. A few scores in it but entertainment all the way.
The U17’s were away to Cremartin in their rescheduled league game last Sunday. Amidst the wind and rain the squad was blighted with injuries and they on the back foot from the off. A very strong and talented Cremartin outfit confirmed their pedigree and Seans na Mullai suffered their first defeat of the campaign. Back to the drawing board and revaluate for the next round.
