Reserve League

In a torrid couple of weeks of games , the fortunes of our Reserves have been scarce. Their luckless run of defeats and injuries continued. Drumhowan were the visitors on Saturday evening and, they too, put paid to any resumption in the teams prospects of gaining a victory. They ran out winners in the end although we had some flashes to our play which are showing progress. We regroup now with our senior squad preparing for their first outing of the year in the coming weeks.

Juveniles

The U17’s kicked off the week with a hard fought victory against Tyholland. Seans na Mullai squared up to a very talented visiting side and took the game to them from the off. Leaders all over the pitch secured a deserved second win of the league campaign and surely a confidence builder for round three.

The U15’s took the trek to Aughnamullen on Thursday night with an eye on a second victory in the league. However, instead, it was a torrential trouncing which does not accurately reflect the ability of the team . Our lads commitment was never in doubt but they were peppered with shots from all angles and subsequent scores as the home team was relentless. This was very much a one sided affair for the home team who has now scored 15 goals and 40 points in two games and to this scoring average we had no answer. As they say , what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger so its onwards and upwards and we prepare for the arrival of Tyholland on Thursday evening.

The U13’s entertained Doohamlet on Saturday morning for round two of the league. The lads made a terrific strong start and maintained a good scoring surge on the opposition. However, in a spirited comeback, Doohamlet , shook themselves and opposition and knocked in some well worked goals to close the gap as the game drew to a close. In the end the boys held on to win and on their overall display deserved the two points.
