Get Well Soon,
Just a quick get well soon to our Chairperson, Brian McPhillips, who has found himself temporarily out of action.

LGFA Junior Championship
On the back of a great first win in the championship, our ladies headed to Killanny on Sunday for round two. However, our fortunes took a turn for the worst as they ran up against a very strong and organised opposition. Despite our valiant effort, the home team produced a very comprehensive win, and we now must return to the drawing board ahead of round three, at home on Sunday with Monaghan Harps.

Mens Junior Championship
Our final group game was away to Scotstown on Sunday evening last. Probably not our finest hour of football as we allowed the home team too much of the play in the first period. They converted their chances well as we struggled to make use of our possession. The interval had Scostown three points in front and a lead that we would not overtake for the rest of the game. A better second period had us limit the oppositions opportunities and come close to some goal chances which were well saved. Alas, we couldn’t improve the scoreboard and in the end, it was a five point defeat. It is now four games, one win, with three defeats in the group stages. Our fate is now in the hands of others next weekend as we have break. Be sure this doesn’t reflect the honest hard work that the players and management have done in preparation for the competition.  However, injuries and lady luck can often step in the way of progress, and unfortunately both have been troublesome this year. We await next weekends results to see our destiny.

Minor Championship
Our minors hosted Aughnamullen on Saturday last for round two of the Div.2 Championship. A feisty encounter unfolded in the first half with plenty of goals and points which gave the visitors a three point advantage at the break. Nothing in it and the boys were more than capable to press out a result. The second half didn’t deliver as many scores as the ball was carried into heavy contact for long periods and turnovers were the order of the day. Aughnamullen kept their advantage on scoreboard and our rate of conversions dropped. The game drifted into unruly and messy play resulting in a red card each and an additional black for our guests. Not what we like to see but we can only deal with what’s in front of us on the day. We now have a draw and a defeat with one game left in the group stages, with Tyholland the next game in two weeks time.

 Indoor Bowls
The Seans Indoor Bowling team returns for another season on Thursday at 8pm in the Club Complex. The team has had recent success and gained promotion within the local bowling ranks.
