Junior Championship
It was a mouthwatering tie away to Aghabog that had our troops out on the road on Sunday evening. Coming from a poor performance in round one, it was imperative that we showed improvement, and boy, did we do that. A massive rise in tempo gave a great start and the lead all the way through the first half. A revitalised team continued the second period with great gusto, taking scores when they could. However, at the midway stage disaster struck, and we were reduced to fourteen players. With that came the onslaught and, as the clock ticked away, Aghabog had the resurgence they needed and hit the net with two goals in quick succession. Once again, we were back in catch up mode, but full credit to the team , they dug deep and through the jigs and reels, hammered out a draw. The result could’ve been so different and in the end, despite the draw, there was an air of disappointment. With a half a loaf of bread being better than no bread, we await the arrival of Scotstown on Sunday for round three of the group stages. A welcome home for James Murphy who is back amongst us and great to see.

U16 Girls
What a night these youngsters gave their supporters on Friday in the League Cup Final in Cloghan. They turned a seven point deficit at the half time break into a four point win at the final whistle. Words fail me on their courage and determination shown by the girls to turn things around and take the game to Inniskeen. Congratulations to them and their mentors who put in an unbelievable shift to clinch they Division Two League Title. Captain Emear Boyle received the cup on behalf of the team and Club and they celebrated at Club Complex on their return.

The Division 2 league had our lads travel to St. Tiarnachs Park on Friday night. Once again they showed their skill and ability as they secured a well earned win over Clones.

Mothers & Others
It was some craic on Thursday night as out Mothers and Others team hosted Eskra in their latest challenge match. With Coach Connolly having them well prepared they needed more game time ahead of their big blitz in Dublin. The game was end to end stuff with some fine displays of skill and fitness by our crew. Congratulations to Ann McEntee who was our Player of the Match and a speedy recovery to Emma Thornton who exited the fray early with an ankle injury. A big thanks to the Eskra ladies for travelling and both teams thoroughly enjoyed the after match chat in the complex.
